Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come in and speak to somebody?
Our team is working remotely so if you wish to speak to somebody we can arrange a Zoom call and our academic consultants will be ready to discuss your requirements in further detail. Simply fill out this form and let us know your preferences. Alternatively, you can always reach out to us via email at [email protected], or on the phone at +44 (0) 207 391 9035. You can also connect with us on WhatsApp or through the Live Chat on our website.
How much will you charge for my project?
We are a bespoke proofreading and editing company, so the price you pay depends on the level of editing treatment you require, as well as the type of document, its length and its complexity, and how quickly you need the document edited or proofread. For an exact price, click here. Please note that we do have a minimum order value of £20.
My subject is very specialised. Are you sure you can help?
We are able to process approximately 98% of all orders that are placed with us, including PhDs. If you cannot find your subject on our order form, please contact us and once we know full details, we'll determine if we can take your order forward.
Who is the typical Oxbridge Editing customer?
Since we began offering our bespoke editing service over 11 years ago, we have evolved largely as a business and now assist students and organisations from across the globe. Whether you’re an undergraduate student or a multi-national corporation, rest assured we have editors and proofreaders who are the perfect fit for your project.
How long does proofreading/editing take?
As we offer a bespoke service, we like to let our clients dictate the deadline when placing an order. However, if you would like a rough idea of how long it would take our team to review your document, we would personally advise allowing one day per 5,000 words that you would like to have proofread, and one day per 4,000 words that you would like to have stylistically edited.
Does the word count include references and bibliography?
Yes, we calculate the word count based on your entire document. Many of our clients prefer to have the whole document proofread/edited as this ensures continuity throughout. If you do not want the references/bibliography to be reviewed, please remove these parts from the document or inform us that the editor should refrain from making any changes here.
Can I speak to the editor?
Of course. This is one of the upgrades we offer as part of our essay proofreading service to foster effective collaboration between you and your editor. Please notify us when placing your order if you wish to include this additional service. The call will last up to 30 minutes and you will have ample time to discuss the whole document with your editor.
Will my work and my details remain confidential?
Yes. This is one of our guarantees. As a registered business, we are bound by the Data Protection Act and the recent GDPR guidelines. If you would like to go one step further, please provide us with an NDA and our director will be glad to sign this for you.
Are all of your editors from Oxford & Cambridge?
Whilst the vast majority of our editors are Oxford and Cambridge educated, not all of them are former alumni from these two prestigious universities. We are now pleased to work with editors from the best universities across the world.
How do I make payment?
The most common way of making payment is to pay online. We work with Stripe, the world's largest payment ledger so your payments are secure with us. However, we do offer other options such as bank transfer and cryptocurrency.
Do you accept American Express?
No, we do not accept American Express.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, for any order over £800 we are able to offer you the option to pay 50% of the order before the editor starts work, then the second 50% before we deliver the edited version to you.
